Android invades the Super Bowl – Motorola buys ad space in the big game

We’ve seen (for months now) that Motorola and Verizon have been serious about spending every last dime in the Android advertising budget. Now comes news that Motorola has purchased an ad spot during Super Bowl 44. And while the exact details haven’t been disclosed, it’s safe to assume Android will make an appearance.
Motorola has purchased at least one ad, according to people familiar with the situation, though a company spokeswoman declines to comment. The company is the maker of the handset for the new Droid smartphone being sold by Verizon Wireless.Brian SteinbergAdvertising Age
Thirty second ad spots during the big game are selling for 2.5 – 3 million, not exactly pocket change. Even Pepsi decided to pass this year (for the first time in over 20 years).
While the products and creative direction hasn’t been shared, the commercial is in good hands: WPP’s Ogilvy Worldwide, an absolutely huge media/advertising firm. What do you guys expect to see on Superbowl Sunday? An ad for the Droid? Something new?
Bonus video: Ogilvy received Gold at the Asian Marketing Effectiveness Awards for their Back Dorm Boyz campaign in 2006 which promoted Motorola phones.
